Today is the first day to publish my official Blog and the beginning of Spring!! Hi I'm Elizabeth Ritchie (Liz ). Welcome to my first blog, I'll admit I'm a little late to the game but everything takes time. I'm a little bit obsessed with interiors & always stumbling across lovely things that I have to find a home for. That is how the shop Olea Design began. My inspiration comes from having a eye for details and noticing the little things around us in our everyday lives.

Moving Forward
If ever there was a time to embrace being creative at home it is now. To be inspired to make changes that don't cost the earth and help the day's pass with enjoyment.
Be Creative
We all have things we are good at, our gifts one would say. Mine happens to be styling and design. Making the best of what we have to be honest and telling a story of who we are. Our homes are memories of life, people and travel. I love to do a little restyle now and then, its like a breath of fresh air. Move pieces around and creating new displays of art and objects you already have. Nothing has to stay in the same place. Try regrouping pieces that reflect your style.
We live in seasons so it only makes sense to change a room from a winter feel to a summer feel. In winter a room's focus might be on the fire or TV area. For the summer season have a move around and make the focus on the views outside and more open plan living.
Flowers in a vase lift a room and add instant colour. I love how Tricia Guild makes the simple placement of a few flower in a vase look elegant with out any fussing.
Lamps are a one of my favorite pieces to add to a room. They soften and give room balance especially a large room. Creating and drawing attention to the details of the space. e.g. a reading corner. So while many of us are at home in the midst of this pandemic, I can't think of a better time to add some creative endeavors to the to do list!
